This is the most magnificent route to the summit area. It is possible to ascend Point Lenana in a three day trip from Nairobi, this is, however, only for the well-acclimatised. It is best to devote a few extra days to the ascent. These days can be spent exploring:

• The Parklands
• OR the roadhead area with its nearby Nithi waterfall and gorge.
• OR Lakes Ellis and Alice
• OR the Hall Tarn area.

Itinerary:

• Day 1 Nairobi - Nanyuki
  After being picked up from your hotel you are driven to Nanyuki, arriving at the Ibis Hotel for Lunch. The rest of the day is spent with your guide, preparing your climbing equipment. Our mountain guide will be happy to help with any queries you may have at this stage and will offer helpful advice and information. Dinner and overnight stay at the Ibis.
  
  
• Day 2 Old Moses Hut
  After breakfast you will be transferred to Sirimon Gate where your climb will commence. Our first walk is to the mountain hut at old Moses where dinner and an overnight stay await.
  
  
• Day 3 Shipton Camp
  After a hearty breakfast we walk, via Mackinders Valley to Shipton Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
  
  
• Day 4 Road Head Camp
  An early start at 02.30 for a climb to Point Lenana (a pre-dawn start is recommended in order to enjoy the best views and dramatic sunrise.). Thereafter begins your descent to Mimos, arriving at 04.30 for a welcome breakfast. After which you continue to Road Head for dinner and an overnight stay.
  
  
• Day 5 Nairobi
  After breakfast an early walk will take you to Chagoria for lunch where you will meet your driver. He will take you back to Nairobi where you are dropped off at your hotel.
